The Loki, the spook ship where most of the action takes place in the story. It is an old merchanter, commandeered for The Company War, and now engaged in "post-war" operations. The living sections is the large cylinder at the front, the interior of which rotates for gravity. The main interior cargo hatch can be seen to the fore. The bulk of the cargo is composed of large cans, strapped to the side along the spine of the ship. The Loki has had these removed and replaced with large fuel tanks but the model here is shown with them as they originally were. The vanes, which form part of the light-drive of the ship flare out to the back.

Thule space station, orbiting the dim flare star of Kruger. The system, with its dust and debris, is too difficult and out of the way to be of much commercial use. It was originally settled back when humanity was new to space and every star was a valuable source of information. As space faring society expanded other, more interesting stars were found but Thule still had use as a way station along important routes. Then with the invention of more powerful engines Thule lost even that use and became a supply dump for the Maziani Pirates.

This is a view along the curved interior dock of Thule space station. Canisters can be seen piled up, either awaiting shipment or having just been offloaded. In the middle distance the gantries and ramp of a ship's dock can be seen. In the far distance the curved deck rises to meet the next section seal.

This is a view of Yeager and Fitch dressed in their armoured battledress. They are emerging from the Loki's yellow airlock access onto the Thule dock.

The Tigris, normally a fighter vessel carried by the Maziani carrier India, is being used here as a boarding vessel. The battle dressed troops of Mazian are assaulting the exterior airlock of a docking bay.
