SIX SWORDS IS LIVE ON AMAZON ECHO AND GOOGLE HOME
Our own audio-based fantasy roleplaying game, Six Swords, is now live on Amazon Alexa (Echo, Dot & Tap). Now you too can play your campaign anywhere with in-game support. Here’s the official entry:
Engage in classic fantasy adventure. Build a team of up to six companions to explore exotic cities, high castles, and deep dungeons. But be careful, the further off the path you get the more dangerous it becomes.
With Six Swords, we’ve focused on making the gameplay accessible. We used OSRIC, an open source version of the gaming system from the first Edition of Dungeons & Dragons ™, which will be familiar to those with experience in the gaming community. Next we put together a just-in-time information model to gradually train players on what to ask for and when. Then we also put together video tutorials to onboard new players for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
To get started, simply say, “Alexa, open Six Swords.” Or with Google Home, say, “OK Google, play Six Swords.”
EDITOR’S NOTE: Six Swords went live on Google Assistant, aka Google Home and Pixel, a few days after the this post was published.
